Why Yo Mama says ‘Choose Good Friends’

You are the average of the five people you most associate with.

Think about it. It’s absolutely true.

This stresses the importance of not only choosing good friends, but lifting your friends up.  The better they are, the better you will be.  The same principal could be applied to a variety of things.

Think about these people and the type of people they most associate with and see if you agree:

  • Successful business people
  • Pastors and other church leaders
  • Drug users, dealers, and gang members
  • The lower, middle, and upper class

This doesn’t mean you can’t be friends with some people. It simply means you should be careful how much you associate yourself with those who you will not get you to where you want to go.

The question is, where do you want to go?  What do you want to be?  What adjustments can you make to achieve your desired result?
